Porcelain Veneers Fullerton, CA

If you are looking to boost the appearance of your smile, dental veneers may be the right cosmetic dentistry treatment for you. We use dental veneers for a subtle or dramatic smile makeover, depending on your unique needs and goals. We use high-quality porcelain materials for a beautiful, natural-looking result that will last for years to come.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

A porcelain veneer is a permanent dental restoration that covers the front and sides of a tooth, commonly used to:

  • Fix gaps between teeth
  • Repair chipped or broken teeth
  • Improve the appearance of crooked or misshaped teeth
  • Change the shape or length of teeth
  • Cover stained or discolored teeth

Made of high-quality ultra-thin, translucent materials, porcelain veneers are durable, stain-resistant, and reflect light much like natural teeth for a beautiful result that can last for years with proper dental care.

Porcelain Veneers: What To Consider

Porcelain veneers will provide a natural-looking, comfortable, and permanent result that can make over your smile and support lasting dental health with good oral hygiene and dental care. Drs. Patel and Patel will perform a thorough exam and discuss your cosmetic concerns and goals to determine if porcelain veneers are right for you.

Cosmetic tooth bonding is an economical alternative that may be more suitable for younger patients or those not yet ready to commit to the cost of porcelain veneers.

Porcelain Veneers: What To Expect

The porcelain veneer procedure will require several visits with us in our Fullerton, CA dentist office.

After the initial treatment planning, we schedule a visit for taking impressions. We use these in the fabrication of your custom porcelain veneers. During this visit, we prepare the tooth surface for placing the final restorations. This involves removing as little of the tooth structure as possible to address any dental health or cosmetic concerns being treated and ensure a secure fit.

The final visit includes placement and cementing of your porcelain veneers- and the reveal of your new smile. Dr. Patel will make any last-minute adjustments for fit and comfort. We will also provide information on how best to care for your new restorations for lasting results.

Porcelain Veneer FAQs

How long do porcelain veneers last?

We consider porcelain veneers a permanent restoration. Once you have teeth prepared for veneers, you’ll need a restoration there for the rest of your life. Typically, veneers last 10-15 years with proper dental care and upkeep.

Do porcelain veneers stain?

Dental porcelain is stain-resistant because veneers are meant to last. However, it can still stain. If you frequently smoke or drink beverages like tea or coffee, the veneers will stain over time. Porcelain veneers don’t respond to traditional whitening treatment, either. If you have a stained veneer, we have to replace it with another veneer.

Do porcelain veneers break?

Just like our natural teeth, porcelain veneers can chip or crack. But they’re made to be durable and this doesn’t happen easily. We recommend trying to not bite down directly with your veneers. Excess pressure is what’s most likely to make them crack.

Can you get a cavity with porcelain veneers?

Tooth decay doesn’t impact the actual veneer itself. However, you can still develop tooth decay in the tooth under the veneer. We’ll review proper brushing and flossing techniques with veneers so that you can ensure you’re taking care of your teeth properly.

What happens if my veneer falls off?

Veneers are permanently bonded to the teeth, so it’s rare that they fall off. If it does happen, however, bring the veneer with you to your appointment. Depending on the condition, it may be possible to reattach the veneer to your tooth. If not, we take impressions and make a new veneer for you.

Am I a good candidate for porcelain veneers?

The most important thing to realize is that after you get porcelain veneers, you can’t go without a restoration on those teeth anymore. You have to ensure that you’re dedicated and want a restoration that’s permanent. Otherwise, most patients are eligible to receive porcelain veneers.
